In a bid to stay fit and active, Namibia based defender George Nyirenda has re-joined his former club Mighty Tigers FC on a two month deal.

Nyirenda, who plays for Namibian Premier League Soccer, side Tiger FC, has returned home after the new Namibian season failed to kick-off in September due to misunderstandings among the football officials.

“Yes I am in the country as the league in Namibia is yet to kick off. I asked my team that I should come back here [Malawi] and I will return once they resolve the issue. So I will be playing for Tigers for the remaining part of the season,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Kau boys Technical Director, Robin Alufandika, believes that Nyirenda’s experience would help them to finish on a good position in the league.

“He is with us and we are processing his clearance. Once we are through he will start playing. He is a good defender I remember he also played for us in 2010 so he is not new to us,” he said.

Tigers were booted out of the Fisd Challenge Cup after losing to Southern Region Football Association Premier Division side, Hangover United 3-2, on post-match penalties at Mpira Stadium.
