Former Nyasa Big Bullets forward Bright ‘Bweke’ Munthali has joined Mozambican club Associacao Desportiva De Vilankulo on a year-long deal.
Munthali was among eight players who were released at Bullets following the expiry of their contracts.
Former Flames left back Moses Chavula, who has brokered the deal, tipped the 27-year-old striker to excel at Vilankulo.
“I am confident that Bright will shine. He is versatile, fast and scores goals. I am happy with the development. I am relieved on my part because the club failed to sign another Malawian forward Vincent Nyangulu who opted to extend his deal at Wanderers,” he said.
Munthali said he would work hard to repay the club.
“It is good news to me as some of my family members were thinking that my career was over after I was released at Bullets. Indeed, when one door closes another one opens. Allow me to take this opportunity to thank all Bullets fans for their support. I learnt a lot during my three-year stay at the club and memories are still fresh,” he said.
Munthali becomes the second Malawian player to sign for Vilankulo after Chavula.
