Former Silver Strikers’ forwards, Green Harawa and Chawanangwa Kawonga, have returned home after the expiry of their respective contracts with Mozambican clubs.

Harawa is back after spending a season with Ferroviario de Nampula whereas Kawonga spent two seasons at Chibuto FC.

The players are available on the transfer market as free agents.

Kawonga on Sunday said despite several clubs being interested in him in Mozambique, he was willing to play in the TNM Super League next season.

“I am looking at several options. Several teams want to sign me in Mozambique but the level of football is not competitive,” he said.

Kawonga has been linked with a return to Silver but the player claimed that no deal had been agreed.

“The owner of Chibuto FC wants to extend my contract, but he is currently in Brazil. I respect him so much and I want to discuss with him before making a final decision,” he added.

Nyasa Big Bullets have also been monitoring the player.

Harawa said he was considering a return to Silver.

“Silver approached me to help them in the remaining games of the season, but I am still consulting,” he said.

But Silver General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, claimed on Sunday that the two forwards might play for the Bankers next season.

“Green will start training with the team on Tuesday [yesterday]. At the moment, the deal is 99 percent done. He is a good player and his experience will be crucial for the team next season,” Nyirenda said.

Malawian players have, of late, been returning from Mozambique.

Joseph Kamwendo and Chimango Kayira also quit Liga Desportivo de Maputo and Costa do Sol, respectively.
