Exit Emm Q enter Emmanuel

Former member of the now defunct Pittie Boys Group Emm Q, who is also a very close musical partner to Gwamba, has announced the change of his name From Emm Q to Emmanuel.

The announcement was made through Emm Q’s real Name Emmanuel Nkosi Official Facebook page where, he posted, “Emmanuel means God is with us. Say goodbye to EMM Q, say hello to EMMANUEL.”

Explaining more on the Change, he said: “I decided to change my name because my music is targeting a more serious audience with matured messages. The name Emm Q was therefore a little bit of a barrier as far as recognition and my type of music are concerned”.

Emmanuel Started his career in 2005 as a rapper and later teamed up with his peers to form a group called Pittie Boys.

The group rose to higher heights with songs such as ‘Easy’, ‘Shake that Thing’, and ‘The Way You Are’.

The other members who made up Pittie Boys were, L.I, Cyclone (not Bossaro Cyclone) and Gwamba.

The group died a natural death when Gwamba decided to pursue a solo career and Emm Q joined rapper Penetrator and A Nigerian-born Singer Ponz to work on a different project under the name EPD.

There was silence after the EPD project but Emm Q returned to active music in 2014, appearing in various collaborated projects but this time as a singer.

He has done a lot of choruses for notable songs like ‘Chinyimbo’ by Phyzix, ‘Umayishosha Wekha’ by Trix, ‘Sine Hule’ by Episodz, ‘Zimuvuta’ and ‘Ndiofewa’ by Gwamba before another brief silence.

His recent return saw him collaborate with Gwamba and Tammy on ‘Better’.

Responding to rumours from across social media platforms which are quickly suggesting that the name change is one step towards the singer’s journey to joining Gwamba at Prophet Bushiri’s ECG Church, he responded: “Me and Gwamba have been joined since the Pittie Boys time and we have always been close like that until today. Nothing has changed.”

Emmanuel will be releasing his latest single called ‘Ndilondola’ on July 3.
