FAITH —We need such outings as musicians

By Sam Banda Jnr

Singer and guitarist Faith Mussa continues with his global adventures as he is set to perform in Ethiopia as well as participate in a conference in United States of America (USA).

The ‘Desperate’ maker leaves the country Friday for Ethiopia to perform at the Annual General Meeting and End of the Year Celebrations on Saturday at Addis Ababa Golf Club.

Faith has been invited by the Association of Malawians in Ethiopia to perform at the event which will feature a variety of activities.

“We need such outings as musicians and I am looking forward to entertaining people. I know it is an event organised by Malawians but I am sure that there will also be Ethiopians and people from other countries,” he said.

From Ethiopia, Faith has another trip to USA early next month.

He will leave for Washington DC on December 6 to participate in a conference organised by Transparency International and International Anti-corruption Council.

“I am going there as an ambassador of Fair Play because I won a competition in 2017 and won another one in 2022 So, I have been invited to showcase the work that I am doing with my art, music, in fighting corruption but also meet other anti-corruption ambassadors from all over the world and hear how they are tackling corruption in their countries,” Faith said.

He said he had plans to organise gigs whilst there but he will have more work on his plate.

“I have also been invited there again next year in March and that is when I will have a tour but, for now, it is about this conference,” Faith said.

In July this year, Faith performed in Spain at the 77th Jeuneusses Musicales International Global.

This was an annual international event that brought together youths and music to explore the future, build bridges and strengthen collaboration.
