Faith to star for BMW Foundation

Malawian artist, Faith Mussa, will be performing at this year’s BMW Foundation, it has been announced.

This is a worldwide, virtual conference on the subject of Equity, Diversity and Belonging (EDB Week) that takes place from June 28 to July 2 2021.

Faith’s manager Samuel Chiwaka said Wednesday that at the event there will be keynotes addresses, workshops and masterclasses.

“I am excited once again that Faith is performing at this event, getting such opportunities means you are valued and Faith will perform to celebrate the EDB Week,” Chiwaka said.

He said that BMW Foundation was impressed by the vibe and music that Faith Mussa performs from his previous tours of Germany hence engaging him.

“This is a good move as Faith’s brand is now being associated with one of the world’s biggest and recognised brand. This is not only about Faith but raising the country’s flag. ,” Chiwaka said.

He said out of world and good artists, BMW Foundation settled for a Malawian artist who sings in vernacular.

Faith said he was looking forward to the event.

“This is a virtual conference and they requested that at the end, they should have a music performance and that is where I come in. So I will perform a song titled ‘Ndikonkuno’ which is part of the Beating Heart project,” he said.

He said the song in which he featured Lazarus Chigwandali, a musician with albinism tells it all that everyone should feel safe in this world.

“The song is a symbol of belonging and I did it because of the killing of persons with albinism in the country,” he said.

In May this year the ‘Mdidi’ maker was also chosen to represent Malawi and the world at large at this year’s United Nations Special Session of the General Assembly (Ungass) on challenges and measures to prevent and combat corruption and strengthen international cooperation.
