Football Association of Malawi (Fam) will today meet most of its affiliates in Lilongwe to discuss this year’s budget.
According to a letter dated January 20 2021, Fam has invited all its affiliates for the meeting except Beach Soccer Association (BSA).
“The letter seeks your input on the 2021 budget plan and all Covid-19 precautionary measures will be observed,” reads part of the letter which Fam General Secretary Alfred Gunda has signed.
In an interview, Gunda said they did not invite BSA because the association was waiting for an outcome following its appeal.
“As you recall, our own disciplinary committee nullified the results of Beach Soccer Association. The case is in the hands of the Appeals Committee. So the involvement of Beach Soccer Association will depend on the outcome,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gunda said the meeting was crucial as it would discuss activities such as national team camping and games as well as refresher courses.
