Fam cancels Mafco, Nyasa Big Bullets quarterfinal match
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has cancelled a Carlsberg Cup quarterfinal match between Mafco and Nyasa Big Bullets scheduled for today Saturday (August 13) due to a fracas that ensued at Chitowe Stadium on Friday.
It is reported that Bullets and Mafco players were involved in a fist fight after the visiting team had gone to the stadium to have a feel of the pitch.
Rules and regulations allow visiting teams to train a day before a match on the venue where they will play. However, it is understood that Mafco had issues with Bullets’ presence at the venue.
Some Bullets players are believed to have suffered some injuries during the wrangle.
Fam is investigating the matter and a new schedule for the game will be announced later.
