Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Marketing and Commercial Director Limbani Matola, in a statement Tuesday, said the competition’s committee had put in place initiatives to ensure safety and security, revenue optimisation, and exciting experience.

“Tickets will be sold in advance. The advance ticketing window starts on Tuesday [yesterday] and closes on Friday [December 16 2022]. On top of reducing congestion at the gates and safeguarding revenue, advance ticketing affords the fans the opportunity to purchase the tickets at their own convenient time.

“Tickets are competitively priced to make them more affordable to most of the fans. And discount incentives have been offered on all tickets bought in advance, thus guaranteeing some savings for the fans during this festive season,” the statement reads.

The statement also states that Fam in collaboration with Bingu National Stadium management are exploring options to increase access points (gates) into the stadium.

“We are opening an additional gate for motor vehicles coming through the Mtandire side and two additional access points for the fans. This means that access points for entry and exit will be doubled, effectively reducing congestion and safeguarding life,” the statement reads.

The two Blantyre giants met last year in the semifinal, with Bullets edging out their rivals Wanderers 4-0 courtesy of Babatunde Adepoju’s goals.

Bullets, who are defending champions, qualified for the final, having defeated Silver Strikers 3-1 in the semifinal and Karonga United 8-1 on aggregate.

The Nomads reached the final after beating Blue Eagles 2-0 in the semifinal and Mafco 4-0 on aggregate.
