According to a letter dated September 11, 2020 signed by Fam General Secretary Alfred Gunda, addressed to different stadium owners, the inspection process will commence on Monday.

“This serves as a reminder that the Football Association of Malawi (Fam), through its Licensing and Compliance Department, will carry out stadia inspection visits around the country, whereby a selected team of highly qualified Fam Stadium Inspectors will perform inspections of the stadiums proposed for use during the new season to come,” read the letter in part.

It means officials will inspect Karonga, Rumphi, Mzuzu, Chitowe, Kasungu, Nankhaka, Silver, Civo, Bingu National, Kamuzu, Mpira Mujanje stadiums and Balaka Community.

Fam Club Licensing and Compliance Manager Casper Jangale confirmed plans to inspect the stadiums but was reluctant to shed more light.

Jangale was optimistic the inspection process will enable them select suitable stadiums that will be fit to host matches.

Most stadiums in the country are feared to be in a bad state after being neglected due to Covid-19 pandemic.
