Fam’s Covid-19 task force road map still relevant

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Covid-19 task force chairperson, Chimango Munthali, has said its road map to restart the game remains relevant despite football season being lost.
Munthali said the task force built a model to be used for football’s successful return once government lift the ban on public gatherings due to Covid-19 pandemic.
“As Fam we built a model to guide the return of football now or in future. When football is to return we shall face more or less the same situation. We are talking about a situation which will need preventive measures, reduce capacity or play without fans or cushion the clubs with funds,” he said.
Munthali said the model which the task force developed also guides how football can return in a safe environment and at the same time taking into consideration interest of other stakeholders.
He said they will use this period to fine tune the road map.
Recently, the task force interacted with the media at Mpira Village in Chiwembe Township in Blantyre.
