Fantasia offers prayer for Malawi

One of the country’s youngest musicians Fantasia Gondwe continues to make strides in her music career as she has stitched a new song titled, Mulungu Dalitsani Malawi’.

The artist’s new song is a prayer for Malawi which stems from the country’s national anthem.

The new single follows her album titled Mwana wa Atate which Fantasia released last year.

In the song, the young artist pleads with God to have mercy on Malawi and never by-pass her as He is blessing other nations.

The song also tackles a lot of petitions that require God’s intervention for Malawi to be saved and some of the challenges include poverty, hatred and political instability.

In the song, the artist also remembers vulnerable groups of people in her song for God’s protection and mercy such as widows, orphans and the elderly.

Fantasia also takes time in the song to pray for the country’s leadership and Malawians.

On the motivation behind the song, father and Manager of Fantasia, George Wiseman Gondwe, said: “We sat down and thought on what role we can play to help our mother Malawi considering all the issues we are passing through as a nation. The best we could do was a prayer for Malawi through this project”.

Gondwe said the song will be made available on all online stores and that they were looking at incorporating the track in the album Mwana wa Atate as a bonus track.

Now nine years old, Fantasia, who is in standard six has said she loves singing and that she was passionate about music.

She said that she was happy to use music to minister the word of God but also use it as a voice to speak for the voiceless.

Fantasia has also worked with a number of artists and is set to feature in a yet to be released song ‘Mama Africa’ done by a Germany artist Raphael Loopro.

The song also features other renowned artists such as Soldier Lucius Banda and Botswana’s Vee Mampeezy.

His father has since said that Fantasia is set to attend and perform at Malawi Good Life 10th Anniversary in Germany mid this year courtesy of Malawi Good Life supported by the Germany government.

Fantasia’s father said he was happy to help his child grow her talent.

“She does well at school and so, I thought she can also progress with her talent,” Gondwe said.

He said with technology being the in-thing now, Fantasia’s album was available on all online platforms.

The album has songs such as ‘Tippex’, ‘Around the Corner’, ‘Hallo Jesus’, ‘Zipatso’, and ‘Who am I’.
