Fattani, Anchor reach FMB T20 Cricket final


Fattani Printers and Anchor Industries have reached this year’s FMB T20 Cricket Knockout Tournament final set for Mpingwe Sports Club in Limbwe, Blantyre on Sunday.

Fattani qualified for the final after beating EazyPack whereas Anchor Industries booted out Malawi Cricket Union Academy side, KU Destroyers.

In the first semifinal, Fattani won the toss and opted to bat first. They made 180/5 in 20-overs with Aasif Rustam scoring 78 runs while Suheil Manjra took two wickets. Rustam was named man of-the match.


In response, EazyPack made 89 runs and were all-out. Sadiq Bhaththi scored 35 runs with Yasin Limdawala taking three wickets.

Fattani won by 91 runs.

In the second semi final, Anchor Industries stopped KU Destroyers.


Anchor Industries won the toss and selected to bat first.

Anchor scored 108/10 in 20-overs with Ahson Rashid scoring 30 runs.

KU Destroyers scored 108 all-out in 20-overs. Umer Shehzad took three wickets.

However, this semi final between Anchor and KU Destroyers was very close, leading to a heated argument.

Mpingwe Sports Club Executive Board Member and Sports Director, Abdul Wahab, confirmed the argument but said it was resolved.
