SILVER Strikers Head Coach, Lovemore Fazili, was left ruing missed chances in a 1-1 draw against Blue Eagles in a TNM Super League match at Civo Stadium on Wednesday.

In a post-match interview, Fazili said his side could not convert chances into goals in the first half.

“We failed to utilise our chances in the first half. Eagles came hard on us in the second half and we were panicking for the better part of the second half,” he said.

He also said the injuries to scorer Green Harawa and Timothy Chitedze disturbed their game-plan.

Harawa gave the Bankers a first half lead before Vitumbiko Kumwenda netted the equaliser for Eagles in the 76th minute. Silver are still on 10th place on the log-table with 10 points from six games whereas Eagles have moved up to sixth with 13 points from nine games.

Eagles Coach, Audloy Makonyola, said he was satisfied with the result.

“It is not easy to collect a single point in a tough game against a good side. I think my team is slowly getting in shape. It will be difficult for the so called big teams to beat us this season,” Makonyola said.
