FCB Nyasa Bullets in Kamuzu Day delight

The match between FCB Nyasa Bullets and Silver Strikers that spiced up Kamuzu Day Celebrations lived up to its expectations at Civo Stadium Sunday.

At the end it was Bullets who walked out 1-0 victors thanks to Henry Kabichi’s goal in the second half of the match that was played for 50 minutes instead of the normal 90.

President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima watched the first half and left at half time.

Both teams had the luxury of resting their regular players.

Chawanangwa Gumbo, John Lanjesi, Okafor Chinedu, Kenneth Pasuwa and Precious Sambani started the match for Bullets.

On the part of Silver, Uchizi Vunga, Tatenda M’balaka, Chinsinsi Maonga and Pilirani Mapila were in the starting line-up.

However, the two teams dished out their best, much to the delight of the jam-packed Civo Stadium.

The Bankers started the match on high with solid displays but they failed to break Bullets defence marshalledby Lanjesi Nixon Nyasulu and Gomezgani Chirwa.

For winning the match, Bullets received K2.5 million whereas Silver got K1 million.

Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa praised his boys for a spirited performance.

“I am happy that the players played well. This is a motivation to the team,” Pasuwa said.

Silver Coach Pieter de Jongh downplayed the loss.

“It was a training match for me,” the Dutchman said.

The match was organised as part of the activities to mark Kamuzu Day Commemorations.
