FDH Bank plc has dressed all teams that will be battling it out in the FDH Bank Cup Round-of-32.

The knockout games are set for this weekend and Thursday the bank honoured the pledge it made during last week’s draw by presenting sets of uniforms, K500,000 and two match balls to each participating team.

FDH Bank Marketing Manager Ronald Chimchere said the gesture was one way of making the competition more exciting.

“We would like to lessen the burden associated with playing at this level. Now that the teams have startup money for their games, we are anticipating an exciting competition,” Chimchere said.

Southern Region Football Association General Secretary Dailesi Kachala expressed gratitude to the bank for the gesture.

“It is rare for sponsors to do what FDH Bank has done. Teams have no excuse for failing to perform. The bank has done almost everything for them. It is now up to them to bring out their best,” Kachala said.

The current stage of the competition will see 16 Premier Division and 16 TNM Super League teams battling it out with the games scheduled for completion by July 10.

Six league teams have been paired against each other with Karonga United meeting Mighty Wanderers, TN Stars taking on Moyale and Ntopwa lining up against Mzuzu Warriors.

One interesting fixture has lined up giants Nyasa Big Bullets against their reserve side at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
