FDH Bank reiterates commitment

FDH Bank has reiterated its commitment to helping in the country’s football development by pledging to dress all the 16 teams to emerge from the round-of-32 in the regional preliminary stages of the K90 million FDH Bank Cup.
The competition, which starts on May 29, will have 20 teams from the South, with the Centre contributing 18 and 16 coming from the North.
FDH Bank Marketing Manager Ronald Chimchere said they expected stiff competition in the inaugural event.
“We are very happy that the regional draw has been successful. Our commitment is not only to give K500,000 to each of the 16 teams that will qualify for the national draw, but we will also dress them with branded uniforms. Each team will also get two match balls just to motivate them in the course of the competition,” Chimchere said.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) General Secretary Alfred Gunda expressed satisfaction with the draw which took place at Mpira Village in Blantyre Wednesday.
“We are happy that, finally, football is returning across the country.
“We will make sure that all Covid preventive measures are followed, just like we are doing with the TNM Super League and regional leagues. We expect the fans to observe social distance and mask up, including washing hands with soap during matches,” Gunda said.
