A year after successfully acquiring previously government owned Malawi Savings Bank (MSB), FDH Bank says it has started the process of moving out of post offices in the districts where MSB was operating in postal premises.

FDH Head of Personal and Business Banking Kawawa Msapato confi rmed the development in an interview in Balaka where the bank has opened a new and modern banking facility.

“We have recently begun the process of moving out of the post office buildings and into our own service centers. There are several factors that led to this decision; however, the key driver for this move is to improve customer service delivery.

“Operating from our own building essentially means that our customers will be served better; and our customers will now enjoy the convenience that comes with this, such as being able to access the Auto Teller Machines at any hour of the day,” Msapato said.

He observed that the relocation to the new building is in fulfillment of the bank’s promise to the Malawi Government and the general public to upgrade rural banking services.

“At FDH, the customer comes first. As such, if moving into the new building means that the customer is happy, then we too are thrilled because we have made banking better for the customer. Since this move was only the first of many to come, we can assure our customers that efforts to ensure that our customers are served in spacious and comfortable premises will continue. The building of a new and modern branch at Balaka is just the beginning of many such initiatives to come, and we can confidently say that these initiatives will be executed smoothly and in a timely manner too,” Msapato said.

He hailed the bank’s customers for the continued support they give to the bank.

“Furthermore, we would also like to assure all other customers in the different areas where we operate that our aim is to offer quality services and good ambience in our outlets, and any sites that require improvement following the acquisition of MSB are being targeted for various enhancements that will bring them to our required standards,” Msapato said.
