The objective of the forum was to help national team players and officials embrace a money saving culture to invest the money they earn, so that it yields returns and grow their income sources to be used after retirement.

First Discount House Limited Senior Investment and Business Manager, Tamanda Kapalamula said the money which players earn throughout their career must be invested in different avenues to gain long-term profit or returns when they retire.

“The professional life of a footballer is relatively short. There are two main reasons why footballers decide to call it a day: Injury and old age. So, before this strikes, we saw it wise to coach the players into investment so that they have a steady source of income even after their playing careers,” said Kapalamula whose firm is a subsidiary of FDH Financial Holdings Limited.
