FDH counts promotion gains
BY DAVID MASSEA:

FDH Bank has touted impact of its Be the One Promotion, which ends this month, saying it is facilitating growth in uptake of its digital services and products.
FDH Senior Manager for Digital Banking, Yamikani Mbawala, said, through the promotion, the bank was also contributing to the attainment of the national financial inclusion drive goal.
He was speaking during the last but one draw of the promotion, which saw one customer winning K500,000 and 10 others walking away with K50,000 each.
“From the time we launched the promotion in May to date, we have had an overwhelming response. So we are happy with progress,” Mbawala said.
He said the promotion had also improved creating awareness of the bank’s Ufulu Digital Account evidenced by the rising number of customers opening accounts.
He said, with such initiatives, the bank was reaching out to the rural masses that have been left out of the banking circles for some time.
“It has been overwhelming because we are following the financial inclusion drive and we are taking banks to the unbanked masses. As far as reaching the unbanked and rural masses and getting them included in the banking industry is concerned, it’s been an overwhelming response,” Mbawala said.
The promotion has entered its last phase, where one lucky customer would win a grand prize of K2 million.
To participate in the promotion, customers would have to be on FDH Mobile or with Ufulu Digital Account and transact at least thrice a month or keep a minimum balance of K20,000 for at least a month.
