Football Association of Malawi (Fam) says it is looking at the possibility of staging the FDH Cup next month.

Fam and FDH Bank signed a five-year deal worth K450 million for the competition in 2019 but it was not played in 2020 as football was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Similarly, uncertainty surrounds the kickoff of the competition this season due to the same virus.

Civil Service United General Secretary, Ronald Chiwaula was excited with the development.

“We want to be the first club to win the FDH Cup. The team is geared and ready for the cup,” he added.

The champions of the competition will walk away with K25 million plus a trophy whereas the runner-up will pocket K8 million.

Fam secured FDH Cup after Carlsberg Malawi pulled out in 2019.
