FDH gives K1 million for Fimda lake conference

FDH Bank on Thursday donated K1 million to the Financial Market Dealers Association of Malawi (Fimda) to be used in hosting of the association’s Annual Lakeshore Conference.

Speaking after making the donation, FDH Bank Marketing Manager, Ronald Chimchere, said the bank supported the conference as it is an ideal platform for financial market dealers to discuss best approaches to growing the industry.

“Looking at how important the conference and the sector is to the economy, we thought it wise to come and sponsor the conference,” Chimchere said.

Fimda General Secretary, Sekani Mfufu thanked the bank for the support.

He said objective of the conference is to discuss critical financial issues of the sector and how best to contribute to the national economic growth.

“We are looking at several developments taking place within the market and mapping the way forward in growing the industry,” Mfufu said.

The indaba would be held this week end at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi District under the theme; “Navigating the Next Level for the Economy and Financial Markets”.

Finance Minister Joseph Mwanamvekha is expected to deliver a keynote address.

Other speakers would include Export Development Fund Chief Executive Officer, William Matambo, Nico Asset Managers Limited Chief Investment Officer, Daniel Dunga and Refinitive Africa Customer Success Manager and Proposition Specialist, Naran Dullabh.
