First Merchant Bank aids Ndirande Health Centre

One of Malawi’s leading banks First Merchant Bank (FMB) on Friday donated various items to patients in the maternity ward at Ndirande Community Health Centre as part of its festive season activities.

FMB head of marketing, Slyvia Mataka, said Ndirande is one of the locations where that FMB works, hence the donation.

“We have an agency here and as a corporate citizen it is important to give back to the community that we serve,” said Mataka.

She said as the world is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, FMB is aware that there are less privileged people who cannot afford special things during the festive period.

Ndirande Health Centre’s medical doctor Martha Makwero said the donation will assist mothers in taking care of their new born babies.

“We are thankful to FMB for the donation. Some of our patients lack essential things like food and clothing,” said Makwero.
