Flames coaches, Fam to strategise for Tanzania
Flames coach Ernest Mtawali and his right-hand man, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, were on Monday expected back from South Africa where they stopped over while in transit from Swaziland last week.
Fam general secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda, yesterday confirmed that the coaches were expected to, upon arrival, present a report on the 2-2 draw against Swaziland in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group L qualifier on September 6.
After the report presentation, Fam and the coaches will strategise for the October 7 away Fifa World Cup qualifying match in Tanzania. The coaches stopped over in South Africa to visit their families.
Meanwhile, Fam was on Monday expected to learn from Fifa whether the Flames would host Tanzania at the Kamuzu Stadium in the return match.
Fifa officials inspected the stadium over the weekend amid concerns that the artificial turf’s lifespan has expired and needs a replacement.
