Flames drawn against Uganda, Burkina Faso
By Mabvuto Kambuwe:

Malawi national football team has been drawn in Group B of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers alongside Uganda and Bukina Faso.
Completing the group will be winners of a preliminary round tie between Seychelles and South Sudan.
The draw took place in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of Friday’s Afcon final between Algeria and Senegal.
The Flames will start the campaign from the group stages as they were seeded.
Group stage games will kick off in November this year.
The draw may appear fair on paper but Uganda, who qualified for this year’s Afcon finals, and Burkina Faso could be tough opponents for the Flames.
Malawi were also paired against Burkina Faso on their way to qualifying for the 2010 Afcon finals in Angola.
This would be Flames Coach Meck Mwase’s real test after a fantastic performance during this year’s Cosafa Cup in South Africa.
Mwase was not readily available for comment Thursday.
But National Football Coaches Association General Secretary, Davie Mpima, described the draw as tough.
“Nowadays, no team is a walkover. We should exercise caution. For us to do well, we should have thorough preparations,” Mpima said.
