Malawi national football team has been drawn against heavyweights Ivory Coast and Cameroon in group D of Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The Flames have also been placed in the same group with Mozambique.
Only one team from the group will make it to the final qualifying stage.
The draw took place in Cairo, Egypt, Tuesday.
Malawi coach Meck Mwase admitted that it was a tough group but called for serious preparations.
“In football, anything can happen. We only need to prepare well,” he said.
Malawi qualified for the group stage after beating Botswana 1-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round.
