Flames in tricky group
Malawi national football team, the Flames, were on Thursday night drawn in Group B of 2016 Cosafa Castle Cup quarter-finals’ qualifiers.
The draw took place in South Africa during SuperSport TV Africa Soccer Live Show with the Flames placed in the group comprising Angola, Mauritius and Lesotho.
Winner of the group will date South Africa in the quarter-finals with Group A best team set to meet Zambia. Group A comprises Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Seychelles and Madagascar.
The road to the last-eight will be long and windy for the 2002 and 2003 finalists, the Flames, who have to play three games.
Seeded hosts, Namibia, join the race from the quater finals against Botswana. Last year’s finalists, Mozambique, square up against guests, Democratic Republic of Congo. The tournament will kick-off in June.
