Flames pros join squad
By Williams Gondwa:

Malawi national football team Coach, Ronny van Geneudgen (RVG), has received a timely boost ahead of Friday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Cameroon as all foreign-based players have joined the Flames squad.
Save for Captain Limbikani Mzava, who has been ruled out after sustaining an injury when his South African Premier Soccer League side Golden Arrows beat 1-0 Black Leopards on Sunday, Gabadinho Mhango of Bidvest Wits was first to join the home-based players in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Monday.
Football Association of Malawi Competitions Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, said Mozambique-based goalkeeper Charles Swini, attackers John Banda, Frank Banda and striker Richard Mbulu joined the squad on Monday evening.
Zakazaka said Japan-based forward Jabulani Linje was the last player to join the squad Tuesday.
“Indeed, I can confirm that all foreign-based players have finally joined their colleagues in Ethiopia. We will leave for Cameroon this morning [yesterday] and we will arrive at 2pm [in Cameroon],” Zakazaka said.

RVG said the coming in of foreign-based players have boosted the team’s morale.
“I can see the fighting spirit in their eyes and for me that is very important. They are very happy to be part of the national team and they have come with a lot of patriotism.
“They want to have a good result. We have a strategy for these two games. Actually, we will play a passing game and get composure in the box,” he said.
