Flames, under-23 begin preps

The senior Malawi national football team and the under-23 side are expected to go into non-residential training tomorrow in the three regions of the country ahead of their matches in March.
According to a statement from Football Association of Malawi, there will be training camps at Mzuzu, Civo and Kamuzu stadiums.
Players based in each of the three regions have been assigned to specific coaches for the training which will take place as players are on an off-season break.
The training sessions have been divided into two weeks, with week one running from tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday. Week will run from January 28 and 30 to February 1.
“The senior team will play Morocco on 23rd March 2019 at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. The under-23 team will play Zambia back-to-back with a home fixture on 20th March 2019 in Blantyre and the return match on 24th March in Lusaka,” reads the statement.
This is not the first time for the two teams to train together as they did the same late last year when they were preparing for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and Olympic Games qualifiers.

Southern Region

Coaches: Ronny van Geneugden, Peter Mponda and Swadick Sanudi
Central Region
Trevor Kalema, Mark Fodya, Lawrence Chaziya, Hadj Wali, Charles Thom, China Chirwa, Laurent Banda, Gregory Nachipo, Ben Manyozo, Francis Mkonda, Hastings Banda, Brighton Munthali, Gomezgani Chirwa, Levison Maganizo, Jack Chiona, Khuda Muyaba, Stain Davie, Raphael Phiri and Juma Yatina.
Coaches: Meke Mwase and Franco Ndawa
Northern Region
Kelvin Kadzinje, Lusekelo Malema, Victor Lungu, Pilirani Mapira and Lloyd Njaliwa.
