Be Forward Wanderers’ midfielder, Joseph Kamwendo and striker Peter Wadabwa, who are currently in Japan for trials, have asked the club’s sponsor, Be Forward, to fly them back home Friday.
In a telephone interview from Tokyo, Wadabwa said he was disappointed that the Japanese teams, who were supposed to host them for trials, are on off-season break.
The Nomads’ top scorer said he got injured after training, alongside Kamwendo, once only with a university college team.
The latest injury has since ruled him out for more weeks.
Wadabwa also got injured while playing for Wanderers weeks before the trip to Japan.
Wadabwa added that they cannot wait for the actual trials as their visas would have expired by next month when the season resumes in Japan.
“We have observed that Wanderers missed the timing on the dates of our arrival here. According to our visas, we were supposed to be here by December 2 2016, and that time the teams were playing cup games. I believe it could have worked that time,” Wadabwa said.
The former Escom United and Silver Strikers’ player said they had asked their sponsor to arrange their departure today.
“We are just waiting for them to give us feedback because we told them that we want to go home this week,” Wadabwa added.
Earlier this week, Kamwendo, in an interview with The Nation, also complained about the timing of the trip to Japan.
Last week, the Nomads’ General Secretary, Mike Butao, told Times that the players were to undergo trials at three clubs in Japan.
