FMB Cricket race hots up

The race for the FMB T20 Cricket Knockout will take a decisive turn today when eight teams battle in the quarterfinals in Blantyre.

Crown Pharmaceutical will meet KU Destroyers at Mpingwe Sports Club before paving the way for EazyPack’s meeting with Deekay Suppliers at the same venue.

Oriental Cricket Club will host Fattani Printers game against Conforzi Plantations with Electra Sales and Anchor Industries’ match scheduled for Indian Sports Club.

Ahead of the quarterfinals, KU Destroyers’ Kamlesh Patel has said they were determined to reach the semifinals.

“I will give them necessary support so that we should reach the quarterfinals,” he said.

Similarly, Electra Sales Director, Hassam Aziz, was confident that his side would reach semifinals.

“We want to develop the sport. The players have been training hard and I know that they will not disappoint us,” he said.

Anchor Industries official, Rauf Kidy, admitted that it was a tough race but stated that his charges were ready to give their best.

Mpingwe Sports Club Executive Director, Abdul Wahab Jagot, said following the successful completion of the preliminary round, the knockout tournament had reached its crucial stage.
