FMB hypes Under-20 finals
FMB has set the hype ahead of this year’s Under-20 Youth National League finals by dressing the top four teams.
The bank dressed Fish Eagles, Malema FC, Silver Strikers Youth and Ntopwa Super Boys ahead of the finals expected to start on Friday at Mzuzu Stadium.
The uniforms are valued at around K1.2 million.
During the same function, a national draw was held and it pitied Malema FC against Silver Youth whereas Ntopwa will date Fish Eagles in the semifinals.
FMB Head of Marketing, Sylvia Mataka, speaking at the bank’s Training Centre in Blantyre yesterday, said it was their wish to make the finals colourful.
Mataka said FMB was encouraged to support the junior leagues due to the impact of the competition.
“Most players in both Under-17 and 20 are products of this league. Others have even stunned officials after breaking into the Flames’ squad. So even though the country is facing economic challenges, we felt it worthwhile to continue supporting the competition,” she said.
National Youth Football Association outgoing chairperson, Mabvuto Missi, hailed FMB for supporting the junior league.
“They are the foundation of the national team. This league has grown big,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ntopwa Super Boyz owner, Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osman, thanked FMB for setting up strong football foundations through the youth league.
