FMB increases cricket sponsorship
As FMB continues celebrating its 20th anniversary, the cricket community was not spared either after the bank increased sponsorship for the FMB Mpingwe Sports Club Knock-Out tournament to K2.5 million, up from K1 million.
FMB head of marketing, Sylvia Nankwenya-Mataka, said they felt honoured to increase the cricket sponsorship.
“We have been involved in cricket before having sponsored similar tournament for almost eight years. However, this is the second successive year we are supporting cricket through Mpingwe Sports Club,” she said.
Mpingwe executive board member and sports director, Abdul Wahab Jagot, thanked FMB for increasing the sponsorship for the competition to involve 10 teams for a month.
“FMB has been there for us all the times. They are good at corporate social responsibilities. They are supporting different sport codes in the country,” he said, adding that nine teams from Mpingwe and one from Oriental have contributed K250,000 for Mpingwe ground maintenance.
Pharmanova, Mapeto David Whitehead and Sons, Sukam, Siku Group’s Sun and Sand, Victoria Forex, Polypack, Easy Park Limited, Fargo, Pacific Stars and Anchor Industries are some of the companies that have bought teams.
