FMB supports press day
First Merchant Bank (FMB) Tuesday presented a K530,000.00 donation to the Media Institute of Southern Africa – Malawi Chapter (Misa-Malawi) as its contributions towards Malawi’s World Press Freedom Day celebrations to take place at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi on Saturday May 7, 2016.
Presenting the donation at a ceremony held at FMB’s head offices in Blantyre, FMB Head of Marketing, Sylvia Mataka said the bank decided to contribute to the event because of the partnership it enjoys with the media.
She said the media is critical to Malawi’s development as it supports the business community in the dissemination of important information to the public. Receiving the donation, Misa-Malawi chairperson, Thom Khanje, thanked FMB for the donation which he said will go a long way in ensuring the success of the event this year.
