Francisco Madinga vows to impress

Georgia-based attacker Francisco Madinga has promised to impress for the Malawi National Football Team if coach Meck Mwase gives him a chance during the forthcoming 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Sudan and Uganda.
Madinga, who signed a two-year deal with Georgia top flight side Dila Gori FC last year, has been drafted into the senior squad for the first time.
The former Mighty Be Forward Wanderers player said he was excited to be part of the squad and promised to deliver even though he acknowledged it would be tough.
“This is my chance to prove that I am ready for the big stage. Of course, I know it will not be automatic to play but I will work hard to get into the team. All in all, I am still learning and I know these two matches will help me gain experience,” he said.
Last year in October, Mwase called Madinga for friendlies against Zambia and Zimbabwe but he did turn up due to Covid travel restrictions.
Currently, Madinga’s side is leading the 2021 Erovnuli Liga season with 10 points from 11 matches.
Madinga scored twice for his side last season.
