Franco Ndawa upbeat despite loss
Civil Sporting Club Coach, Franco Ndawa, is optimistic of a good season at the Lilongwe-based club despite suffering a home 1-0 defeat against Mafco FC on Sunday.
In a post-match interview, Ndawa said the team would soon be a force to reckon with in the TNM Super League.
“I am satisfied with the performance of the players. We did well but Mafco got the much needed result. I am sure the team will do well,” Ndawa said.
Ndawa has inherited a squad from Epac and Civo United after the two teams merged following the Office of the President and Cabinet’s (OPC) acquisition of the former.
OPC dumped Civo to sponsor Epac.
Mafco Coach, Temwa Msuku, whose ultimate goal this season is to win the league and a cup, said it was good to start the season on a high.
“It was a tough game because we played against a good side but we were better,” Msuku said.
