Fredokiss is NBS Bank ambassador
NBS bank on Friday unveiled one of the country’s celebrated urban artists, Fredokiss as its brand ambassador.
The versatile rapper famed for songs such as ‘Malamulo Amu Ghetto’, and ‘Basi, Dear Jah Jah’, was officially unveiled the ambassador during an event held at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.
The unveiling ceremony was preceded by a whistle stop tour around Blantyre by the artists franked by NBS’ senior management team.
Also known as the Ghetto King Kong, Fredokiss has in the recent past taken an impressive journey in engaging the youth into economically viable activities through his music.
He recently held a free show at Masintha Ground in Lilongwe where he pulled a gigantic audience.
The artist, who on Saturday was also all smiles having bagged three awards in the Urban Music People (UMP) Awards held in Lilongwe, hailed NBS Bank for the move.
Fredokiss real name, Penjani Kalua, said his ambassadorship augurs well with his mission of transforming the youths in the country.
“Our mission is to create one million jobs and business opportunities for Malawian youths,” Fredokiss said.
He said in line with structures put in place by the bank, attaining this goal is possible, saying “the bank also intends to bring deference among the country’s youth.”
NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, said growth of the economy heavily relies on the youth who are energetic, resilient and innovative, hence the need to engage them.
He rated Fredokiss as an ideal option for the drive, having been impressed by his recent performances in which he attracted multitudes of the youths.
“We believe in brining change to the lives of people. And we share this philosophy with Fredokiss, hence, our partnership,” said Ngwenya.
Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) President Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango recently said it was high time the corporate world came out and started utilising artists in their projects.
Fredokiss’ unveiling as NBS Bank ambassador comes barely a month after Astro Mobile also unveiled Tay Grin as its ambassador.
