French drama, storytelling and Singing competitions return to the fold later this year with its national finals to be held in Lilongwe and Mzuzu respectively.
Coordinator of French activities and Director of French Studies at Maison de la France Poya Chapweteka said Wednesday that they were set for the third edition of Chantons en Francais (singing), 33rd edition of French drama and fourth edition of storytelling.
“This is the first time that we are organising the French drama finals in Lilongwe in the history of the competition and first time that we are doing singing and storytelling in French national finals in Mzuzu,” Chapweteka said.
The regional finals for the singing competition will be held on February 4 2023 in the three cities of Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu whereas the regional finals for the French drama competition will be held on February 18 2023 in the three cities.
The national finals for singing and storytelling competitions will be held at Mzuzu University on February 11 2023 whereas the national finals for the French drama will be held in Lilongwe on March 4 2023.
The last winners of the French drama contest were Marymount Secondary School in 2020 before going on a break due to Covid pandemic whereas Mzuzu University triumphed in the last storytelling contest in 2021.
