Fum takes products to Sadc Summit

Nyirongo expressed hope that the Sadc Summit would help unlock markets for some of the local products.

The summit, which officially started on Tuesday and ended Wednesday, being held under the theme ‘Bolstering Productive Capacities in the Face of Covid Pandemic for Inclusive, Sustainable, Economic and Industrial Transformation’.

The theme sought to accelerate the implementation of the Sadc Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan 2020–2030, in particular, the Industrialisation and Market Integration pillar.

“Fum seized the opportunity to showcase products of some of its members to the delegates. Some of Fum members that were displaying products were Innovative Fish Farmers Network Trust, Lakeshore Agroprocessors Enterprise, Homes Industries, Honey Products and AICHI Honey,” Nyirongo said.

On the sidelines of the event, Homes Industries was physically presented with two certificates and a trophy from the Usaid Investment and Trade Hub for outstanding performance during the Malawi Exporter Awards of 2021.
