Flames striker, Gabadihno Mhango, continued to set alight South African football when he claimed his third man-of-the-match award on Saturday as Bidvest Wits FC progressed to MTN Top 8 final after a goalless draw against Cape Town City in a second leg tie.

Wits, who booked the final spot after a 3-0 aggregate victory over Cape Town, face the winner between Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United this weekend.

Mhango was also named man-of-the-match in the first leg after scoring his first goal of the club since arriving from Bloemfontein Celtic via Golden Arrows.

However, Mhango, in a post-match interview with SuperSport Television, said was disappointed with the draw.

“We didn’t come here for a draw. We came here for a win but this is football. We are a good team, we just need to look forward and focus on the next game,” he was quoted as saying by Soccer Laduma football magazine.

Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, was also not pleased with lack of goals.

“It was endless chances and it is really upsetting not to score. We created so many opportunities,” he told the publication.

“We could play to next week and we still would not have scored. We got a chance to play in the final, but to be fair; we have to be more ruthless in front of goal. Our final ball has let us down and it is something we need to work on.”
