Mhango has taken his goal tally to seven in the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) this season alongside Bradely Globler of Supersport United and Kermit Erasmus of Cape Town City.

The Malawian is in contention for the PSL Golden Boot award this season as he is just two goals behind leading goal scorer Peter Shalulire of High Lands Park.

Pirates remain fifth on the log table with 21 points from 15 games, 14 points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs who lost 2-1 to Supersport United in another PSL match on the same day.

Mhango moved to the PSL in 2014 when he joined Celtic from Bullets.

In his debut season, Mhango won Celtic Player’s player of the season and also finished as the top goal scorer for the club with nine goals in the league.

Then he joined Bidvest Wits from Celtic but he was loaned to Golden Arrows where he scored five goals.

At Wits, Mhango won the MTN Top 8 and the PSL title in 2017.
