South Africa-based forward, Gabadinho Mhango, last week made the day of one of his fans in Ntcheu District, in what is truly an inspiring tale.
A picture picked up on social media showed a young football fan in an old T-shirt with the name ‘Gabadinho’ written at the back.
The Bidvest Wits’ striker made it his mission to find the young fan, who was eventually located, with the Malawian international returning home to meet the youngster, handing him his Wits club shirt and treating him to lunch.
Recently, Mhango, who is enjoying a rich vein of form having inspired Wits to MTN8 Trophy, also donated to the children’s ward at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.
The Flames’ striker was also seen at College of Medicine Sports Complex on Friday during a Comedy Show involving Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime, among others.
The act of kindness resembles that of Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, who earlier this year sent a signed football shirt and ball to a young Afghan fan who had posted a photo on social media wearing a blue and white plastic bag depicting Messi’s name in a homemade Argentine strip.—Kick- Off website/The Daily Times
