Former Nyasa Big Bullets striker, Gabadinho Mhango, has promised to engage an extra gear to ensure that his South African team, Bidvest Wits, win the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) championship.
Mhango, who joined Wits in 2016, has collected man-of-the-match awards thrice and inspired his team to the MTN8 Cup championship.
He said he had learnt a lot at Wits and promised to bounce back stronger in the second-half of the PSL season.
“We are currently on second position in the league and we are heading there. I really appreciate the advice which I get from my coach. It will greatly assist me to perform better. I am hopeful that when the games resume next month, I will continue scoring,” Mhango said.
He further said that he does not regret dumping Bloemfontein Celtic in the 2015 season.
“I had a good time at Celtic and the experience I got there has impacted on me greatly in my football career, but it is at Wits where I have seen my career growing beyond my expectations,” he added.
Recently, Wi t s Coach Gavin Hunt complained about Mhango’s failure to score regularly.
Wits lie second on goal-aggregate behind leaders, SuperSport United, on the PSL log table.
Both teams have 25 points each, but Wits have a game in hand. SuperSport have played 14 games.
