South Africa based Malawi national football team striker Frank Gabadinho Mhango is expected to revive his chase for the 2019/2020 Premier Soccer League (PSL) golden boot award when his side Orlando Pirates face Mamelodi Sundowns today.
The former Nyasa Big Bullets attacker is likely to win the award having scored 14 goals before the suspension of the PSL season due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Gabadinho is two goals ahead of Bradley Grobler of Supersport United and Peter Shululile of Highlands Park.
The former Bidvest Wits attacker was hopeful to keep his dream to win golden boot award alive after spending almost five months without playing a competitive match.
“It feels great to be back in action and I am geared for it. I know I have got a huge task to ensure that I keep scoring. As a player it is my wish to score and help my team to win,” Mhango said.
Meanwhile, Flames defender Limbikani Mzava will be in action on Friday when his side Highlands Park take on Sundowns.
Other Malawians Gerald Phiri, Richard Mbulu, Dennis Chembezi and Khuda Muyaba will return to action on Saturday.
Fresh from exiting the Nedbank Cup after losing to Bloemfontein Celtic, Phiri Jnr and Mbulu’s side Baroka will play against AmaZulu.
Chembezi and Muyaba‘s Polokwane City will date Kaizer Chiefs.
Veteran Robert Ng’ambi’s Black Leopards will restart the season on Sunday when facing Maritzburg United.
