A group calling itself Rainbow Generation (Blantyre Chapter) has launched a campaign to mass mobilise support for the gay cause.
In a statement released on Wednesday the group said it was “calling upon all gays and lesbians in the country to come to the Blantyre Magistrate Court on Friday, January 22, 2016 and provide moral support and encouragement to those fighting the battle for us at the courts”.
The group further decried the on going hostile reaction to homosexuality in Malawi.
“As the Rainbow Generation, we are shocked that the country seems to be drifting towards creating ‘courts’ outside the courts when in the spirit of justice and human rights, the courts are the rightful places to obtain justice,” says part of the statement.
