One of the country’s general insurance firms, General Alliance, on Friday celebrated 20 years of doing business in Malawi.
The company also unveiled plans to penetrate into other parts of the region, beyond Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania.
From a staff complement of four people in 1996, General Alliance has registered tremendous growth over the years and has presence not just across Malawi but in Zambia and Tanzania as well.
General Alliance Chairperson, Ramesh Savjani, told journalists on the sidelines of a cocktail party the firm hosted for its clientele that the company plans to expand its footprint within the country and beyond.
“We look forward to expand further, both in the country and beyond. There is vast business potential from where we have to tap the most,” he said.
He hailed the company’s customers for the continued support given over the 20 year period.
“We would also like to thank all the brokers who have supported us over the years. Without your support, we would not be here celebrating 20 years or indeed be the highest rated insurer in Malawi,” Savjani said.
Guest speaker at the event, Daniel Dunga, hailed General Alliance for its commitment to excellence over the past 20 years.
He urged the firm to continue providing high quality products and services so that it registers further growth in the next 20 years.
