Genetrix Ladies deposed Simba after collecting 27 points from 10 games. Simba finished as runners-up with 21 points whereas Braves were third with 18 points.

Scorpions ended on fourth position with 12 points whereas Nyala finished on position five with six points.

Hockey Dreams Ladies also emulated the bad example of their men’s side by finishing bottom of the six-team league with just a point.

During the final round of games played over the weekend, Genetrix men’s defeated Scorpions 18-1 and Nyala 3-0 whereas Braves beat Hockey Dreams 8-1.

In the ladies’ section, Simba defeated Hockey Dreams 4-0 and Nyala 7-1.

Braves Ladies beat Scorpions 1-0. Nyala women’s side defeated Scorpions 2-0.

Genetrix Head Coach, Geoffrey Biya, said their dominance was due to planning and team spirit.

“We always work together. We analyse our strengths and weaknesses and make proper adjustments,” he said.

Southern Region Hockey League spokesperson, Richmond Liabunya, described the season as successful, having wound up in time.

“We didn’t want to get disturbances from the rains as this is the rainy season,” he said.
