George Kalukusha starts tri-city tour

Lilongwe-based musician George Kalukusha gets to the stage this weekend as he kick-starts his tri-city tour.
The artist, who has performed in a number of festivals and last year starred at the Lake of Stars Discovery in Nkhata Bay, said Thursday he was ready for the shows.
“I am all set for the shows. Let me also say that I will be releasing new music as well. I am also hoping to feature in international festivals,” Kalukusha said.
The singer and guitarist starts his tour today at Pakachere Backpackers in Zomba before dating Flood Church Building in Blantyre the following day.
Kalukusha will then perform in Lilongwe at Jungle Events Garden on February 15 2020.
“It’s exciting to get into this tri-city tour. I know Mzuzu is a major city but for now I am only doing it in Zomba, Blantyre and Lilongwe. I don’t have anyone on the ground in Mzuzu and I have been trying to perform there for some time. I hope to get through,” he said.
Kalukusha said he had an amazing year in 2019 as he among others, made it to the top three of Mr Eazi’s EmPawa Africa competition which had 16,000 applicants.
“I co-wrote on Mr Eazi’s ‘Key to the Kingdom’, a song which was chosen by Beyoncé for her Lion King soundtrack and to cap it all I signed a publishing deal with EmPawa Africa,” he said.
The musician, said he was looking forward to the best this year and that the tri-city tours were part of taking his music on the road.
“People should get ready for this musical onslaught fitted with a brand new band and new energy,” he said.
