By Mphatso Malidadi:

Mighty Tigers Coach, Gerald Phiri Snr, has said he is still sharpening his charges’ claws so that they perform well in both league and cup matches this season.

“I know the style of football we need to play. We are not there yet but we are surely heading in that direction. I want the team to play an entertaining game while also getting good results and competing for trophies. We also need to master how to change our formation in the course of a game,” said the former Malawi national football team assistant coach whose charges have five points from three games.

Phiri said luring big-name players to the team is difficult because of financial challenges, hence he will continue working with the talent at his disposal.

He said Kau Kau believe in attracting youthful players who want to make names for themselves.

“We provide the perfect environment for budding players to realise their goals. We believe in grooming young talent and have built a squad with great potential,” Phiri said.
