Members of staff at German Embassy, GIZ and KfW Wednesday donated blood to Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS).
The exercise took place at KfW offices in Lilongwe. German Ambassador Jurgen Borsch said the initiative was aimed to raise awareness and change the mindset of many Malawians who do not donate blood.
According to MBTS, at least 80000 units of blood are needed per year. However in 2015 only 56,000 units were donated.
